'Kalimna' is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Casey.
Why is it significant?
'Kalimna' is significant as a landmark building sited to gain exceptional views of the surrounding countryside. It was once the home of the Mackies, a prominent Harkaway family. Kalimna was later associated with the Hawkins Kalimna Stud. The building clearly demonstrates two separate phases of construction and retains important architectural features despite recent alterations.
