Statement of Significance

The Jewell Railway Station, and Gates are of local historical, architectural and technological significance. The station is a relatively intact late Victorian railway which retains many of its charcteristic details. The signal box and gates are rare surviving examples of such structures still in regular operation. The appearance of the station building has been marred by the addition at its northern end.
