'Oak Park' is of local historic significance to the City of Moreland.

Why is it Significant?
Of historical significance as one of only two nineteenth century houses in the Oak Park area. (AHC Criteria A4)
It demonstrates the early phase of farming in this area and is built on the site of the former Belle Vue homestead, which was associated with John Pascoe Fawkner, pioneer, politician and co-founder of Melbourne, who lived on the property between 1840 and 1855. (AHC Criteria H1)
