Wentworth House is included on the Victorian Heritage Register
(H0138) as a place of State significance. Please refer to the VHR
citation for the statement of significance for this place. The local
statement of significance is as follows:
Wentworth House is of state historical and architectural
importance. The original section of this structure, constructed only
seven years after the foundation of the colony at Port Phillip, is
one of the oldest surviving house in Victoria to remain on its
original site. The property has strong associations with several
pioneer agriculturists in the district, it is an important and rare
illustration of early Victorian colonial traditions.
