Hazeldeane is of local architectural and historical Significance. It is a good example of a large Italianate house of the type built for business people in Brunswick in the 1880s. It derives historical Significance for its associations with Caleb Burchett, a prominent local landowner. With Prestonia (357 Brunswick Road; see datasheet), it is a local landmark.
