Statement of Significance

Prestonia is of local architectural and historical Significance. It is a fine example of an Italianate mansion constructed of locally-made bricks. Historically, it has associations with a number of prominent Brunswick business people, in particular brickworks owner James Stroud, for whom the house was built. With Hazeldeane (359 Brunswick Road; see datasheet), it is a local landmark.
