'Greystanes', comprising the house constructed c.1888, at 58 Belair Avenue, Glenroy.

How is it Significant?
'Greystanes' is of local historical Significance to the City of Moreland.

Why is it Significant?
Of historical significance as one of a small number of houses dating from the first period of suburban subdivision in Glenroy in the 1880s. (Criterion A.4) It is also of interest for its probable associations with James Chapman, an important local property developer and speculator who developed the Forest Hills Estate in this area.
