Statement of Significance

The station is of regional significance as the focus for the land speculation in this area in the late nineteenth century, its later role as a commuter station and its architecture. With the Moreland Station, the Coburg Railway Station complex makes a crucial contribution to the Victorian character of the Upfield line. Its status as the earliest and busiest passenger facility on the line is of local significance.
