The Pascoe Vale World War I Soldiers' Memorial located in Rogers Reserve, Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale South is of local historic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of historic significance, as an early memorial erected in c.1916-1917 to honour local soldiers and demonstrates the impact that World War I had upon communities in Australia. It is one of only four memorials of this type in Victoria, the others being located in Gisborne, Mordialloc and St Kilda. Also, the transfer of the memorial from Pleasant Street to Rogers Reserve in c.1948 demonstrated the increased need of the community to commemorate its fallen after World War II.
