Why is it significant?
Of historic significance, for its ability to aid in the demonstration of the development of Pascoe Vale South, and the increased need to provide such services to the local community. (AHC Criterion A.4)

Of aesthetic significance, as a good example of late 1950s civic architecture in an area where few such examples exist. (AHC Criterion E.1)
