What is Significant?
The Brunswick Road East Precinct, including places 196-214, 218-224 Brunswick Road, Brunswick.
How is it Significant?
The Brunswick Road East Precinct is of local historical significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it Significant?
It is an intact and cohesive strip of pre-War dwellings, providing evidence of several successive phases of residential development in the area in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The houses, while different in style, are otherwise similar in their scale, materials and setback. Somerset Terrace, comprising an attached row of seven Victorian brick houses, remains as a key element in the precinct, and in the wider streetscape. (AHC Criterion A.4)
