Statement of Significance

Moderate historical significance. Given the relative prominence of the Woolley family in the area since the 1870s (there is a road and a beach named after them) there is obviously local significance. there is also a broader significance to the history of the development of Western Port and the industries that were undertaken there (ie fishing) which supplied Melbourne for some time.
