Statement of Significance

The house originally known as "St. Olaves" at 317-319 Alma Road is architecturally important as a locally unusual early example of the emerging Federation Style having its origins in the English Domestic Revival and the Arts and Crafts movements. The verandah and window treatments are distinctive. "St. Olaves" compares with nearby ''Portavoe'' of 1904 at 359 Alma Road.
