Statement of Significance

"Kynaston" is locally important as a large late Victorian villa residence, demonstrating something of the lifestyle to which a senior government bureaucrat could aspire during the late nineteenth century boom period. The design of the verandah, though defaced, is unusual in Caulfield and, therefore, important.
