Column of block and pedestal in Batman Park bearing the inscription:

"John Batman, Founder of Melbourne, formed a base here at Indented Head on 29/5/1835. Matthew Flinders landed here in 1802 and crossed to the You Yangs. B.P.D. League Centenary Celebrations 29/5/1935"
