The Heidelberg Railway Station is one of a group of Edwardian railway stations of the island platform type, others including Essendon, Caulfield and Box Hill railway stations. Although altered, the station still retains typical features of this style such as curved parapets, contrasting red brick and render and cantilevered awnings.
