The formerBridge Dairy and residence at 2Ogilvy Street has been demolished. The following SoS was prepared for the 2004 Heritage Study: What is significant? Aesthetically, the dwelling is a locally rare example of a building in the Moderne style. It occupies a key and prominent position at the entrance to Ogilvy Street and Koonwarra Road and contributes to the historic character of Ogilvy Street. (AHC criterion - E.1)
The former Bridge Dairy constructed in 1944, and the attached dwelling constructed by M Strazzabosca in 1946 at 2 Ogilvy Street, Leongatha.
Why is it significant?
The former Bridge Dairy complex is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the town of Leongatha.
Historically, it is a locally rare example of an integrated complex that demonstrates the development of the local milk industries. (AHC criteria - A.4 and D.2)
