Built in the 1890s for the farming community in the township of Nar
Nar Goon, St Johns Church of England is a rare building type for the
Shire, a 19th century church, and has landmark qualities as a public
building serving the local community over a long period. A number of
important district families were associated with this church. They
included the Brownings, Grey, Lattas and Startups.

St Johns is one of the Shire's major early public buildings and is
the focus for the early township development of Nar Nar Goon.
