SIGNIFICANCE: »Represents one of the minor denominations in Hamilton. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE Seventh Day Adventist Church Built on land originally outside the city's boundaries, this church is of local significance for its simple architecture and its historical associations with one of the minor denominations in Hamilton. The building's style is naively Gothic Revival and was designed and built by the congregation in the 1920s. ([i]) The building represents the aspirations of a small but dedicated group of people and is one of the few examples of true community participation. ([ii]) The small scale and the familiar detailing of the building give it an attractively domestic quality suitable for its surroundings. It is very little altered since its construction and is maintained in excellent condition. [i] According to a member of the congregation doing maintenance during the inspection, 4/5/91.
