Statement of Significance

This house, being of brick construction, is unusual among Northcote's early dwellings. It also has been linked with a figure known across the metropolitan area (Scott) and one of the city's early providers (Toennies). It also contributes to the 19th and early 20th century character of the High Street southern approach to Northcote.
