Statement of Significance

Architecturally, an unusual form, achieved, using common 19th century suburban materials and early 20th century (Queen Anne) details also interesting because of its presumed replication of part of Peck's ancestral home: of regional importance.

Historically, the house and writing place of H.H. Peck, a person epitomising the urban" expression of the early pastoral era of Melbourne and its suburbs and Essendon's special place as the gateway to the rich pastoral holdings of the west: of regional importance and State interest.
