Statement of Significance

What is significant?
Old Bilpah Homestead is a single storey timber house surrounded by the ruins of an early twentieth century garden and ruinous outbuildings. Old Bilpah was owned by the Thacker family for many years. The house and garden are in poor condition, although they retain a high degree of integrity to the early twentieth century.

How is it significant?
Old Bilpah is of historical significance to the Southern Grampians Shire and the community of Glenthompson.

Why is it significant?
Old Bilpah is of historical significance as an example of an early twentieth century homestead complex with garden, outbuildings and homestead. It is of further significance for its association with the Thacker family.
