What is significant?
Groves' Cottage (former) is located on the north side of Watton Street beyond the intersection with Hutton Street on the western side of the township of Penshurst. The cottage is a small, symmetrical four roomed residence, with two large chimneys suggesting the presence of timber extensions which have since been lost. The roof is covered in corrugated iron sheets, which cover wooden shingles. The exact date of construction is not known, but it appears to date from about the 1870s.
