What is Significant?
'Alroy', constructed in 1863, at 13 Stevedore Street, Williamstown. 'Alroy' at 13 Stevedore Street, Williamstown is of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Hobsons Bay. Historically, it was associated with Williamstown's important port role of the early Victorian period by its first owner-occupier, Conradi, also home of a Williamstown councillor from this important period. (AHC criteria A4, D2 and H1) Aesthetically, it typifies the simple form and materials adopted in Williamstown during the early Victorian period and in numbers greater than most other localities; although alterations obscure this expression.
