C Listed - Local Significance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE - HISTORIC PLACES DOCUMENT SHEET - GRC SHEET NO 244 This historic plaque marks the site of the Moorabool Street Jetty, erected between 1849 and 1856, and the subject of much delay due to exigencies in labour during the gold rushes. RECOMMENDATIONS: PROTECTIVE MEASURES Geelong Regional Commission Register. REFERENCES Inscription reads "Geelong Harbour Trust. This marks the site of Moorabool Pier constructed 1855 - Demolished 1949 as part of Port Development Scheme. Commissioners - Chariman J Spenser Nall, H. A. Lumb JP E. J. Fairnie CBE JP" Lang, Dr W.
