C Listed - Local Significance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE The Earl of Charlemont anchor in the Barwon Heads Park, 7-71 Ewing Blyth Drive is historically and socially significant at a LOCAL level, It is associated with the Earl of Charlemont wreck which led to some of the survivors settling in or nearby Barwon Heads. It is also recognized and valued by the community as a significant component of the heritage of the area. Overall, the Earl of Charlemont anchor in the Barwon Heads Park at 7-71 Ewing Blyth Drive is of LOCAL significance Recommendation: Parts of the anchor are showing signs of deterioration through interior rust. It therefore requires chemical treatment to prevent further deterioration.
