STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

The Drysdale Branch of the Colonial Bank of Australiasia was erected in 1880 at the intersection of five main roads into the township. This Conservation Classical revival building, designed by Warrnambool Architect George Jobbins, is characteristic of bank architecture of the 1860-1880 era in Victoria and typical of the work Jobbins, the architect, for many of the Colonial banks in Victoria. Similar buildings were erected at Burregurra and Whinchelsea.
