C Listed - Local Significance Statement of Cultural Significance The General Store, Ocean Grove was built in the 1890s by Mr T Pescott, a local builder. The original fabric is believed to be underneath the current facade and extensions. It is of social and historic significance to the local Ocean Grove community. The General Store, located on the Terrace, Ocean Groves main street, has been serving the local community since the 1890s. The store was central to the permanent community of Ocean Grove and to the summer visitors. It was extensively altered in the 1930s. It is of LOCAL cultural significance. References McKeown,G.
