C Listed - Local Significance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE 'Carrick' is an early weatherboard Victorian cottage probably dating from the 1850s. It has a high standard of integrity. It is of historic and social significance for the local Portarlington community . Carrick is located on The Esplanade with marine views. It has a mature Moreton Bay fig tree in the garden, probably an early planting. The cottage has significance for its association with a number of well known Portarlington residents including around the turn of the century local shopkeeper and entrepreneur, PM Brown.
