Statement of Significance

The large house at 56 Collins Street Drysdale previously called Sherwood, is believed to have been built in 1889 as a vicarage for the nearby St James Church of England. It is built of weatherboard on a bluestone foundation.

The former St James vicarage has historic and social value to the Drysdale community because of its associations with St James Church for over 100 years.
