STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

Winter's Cellar in Grovedale was erected in 1878 for Heinrich Wilhelm Winter, son of pioneer settler Jon Winter, who acquired the land upon which the stone cellar and weatherboard premises are erected on 1854.

The cellars have been in the ownership of the Winter family for six generations and the establishment is a celebrated Geelong region century vineyards of the district. Winter's Cellars remains as one of the few such establishments in Victoria.
