STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

The Geelong Aero Club building at 1411 - 1419 Barwon Heads Road is aesthetically significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates original design qualities of the Federation Carpenter Gothic style. These qualities include the gable roof form clad unpainted, lapped galvanised corrugated iron. Other intact qualities include the horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, wide eaves and exposed rafters, timber framed, pointed arch and leadlighted windows, and the decorative gable infill stucco panelling and worked timber battening.

The Geelong Aero Club building at 1411 - 1419 Barwon Heads Road is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with the Connewarre Presbyterian Church from 1915 - 1985, while the site is associated with the Connewarre Presbyterian Church from 1861.

The Geelong Aero Club building at 1411 - 1419 Barwon Heads Road is socially significant at a LOCAL level. It is still recognised by sections of the community for its former religious associations.
