What is significant?
The remains of a small scale, early 20th century, quartz mine. The remains comprise the footings of a brick chimney. The site may contain other foundations.
How is it significant?
The site is significance because of it has: 

Intactness: retains evidence of a key aspect of a steam-powered winding engine quartz mine – the foundations for a smoke stack that would have been connected to a steam boiler. 
integrity: sufficient details survive to demonstrate its purpose. 
Condition: retained fabric in a condition that can be understood and interpreted 
Why is it significant?
The site has local significance as a relic of Bendigo's late 19th-century quartz mining industry.
