The Former Hope Street Dwelling is the location of an early 20th century residence, with subsurface deposits likely to exist at the site, including potential cesspit/closet deposits.
How is it significant?
The Former Hope Street Dwelling is of local historical and archaeological significance.
Why is it significant?
The Former Hope Street Dwelling was constructed by 1908 and was likely built in the late 19th century. Archaeological investigation of the former dwelling has the potential to confirm the initial construction and occupation dates. Archaeological investigation would also help inform who used the former dwelling. There is a moderate to moderate/high potential for archaeological features and/or deposits do be present in relation to the dwelling. Insight gained has the potential to add to our understanding of people or families who resided in Brunswick during the late and early 20th centuries.
