This tree is significant for scientific, social and aesthetic reasons at the State level. 
Why is it significant?
This Marri is scientifically significant for its outstanding size. The circumference is almost twice the circumference of the only other specimen on the Register in Horsham. It is also an outstanding example of the species in Victoria. This tree is common in the Perth Hills (Western Australia) but is an uncommon specimen in Victoria. It is socially significant for its contribution to the landscape and aesthetically significant for its unusual weeping form which is visually appealing.
