What is significant?
A single remnant Moonah tree located in the Foreshore Reserve, opposite 365 the Esplanade, St Leonards.
How is it significant?
This Moonah tree is significant for scientific and landscape reasons at the State level. 
Why is it significant?
This Moonah is scientifically significant for being an outstanding example of the species. It is one of the best examples of a Moonah tree in the state of Victoria. Many other specimens of this species are deteriorating however this tree is remarkably healthy. The root zone is healthy and well protected and is in good structural condition. The tree is also significant for its contribution to the landscape. This Moonah is a mature and remnant tree that stands out on the foreshore where once there were many Moonahs but are now declining in numbers.
