The former Myrniong Hotel at 55 Main Street, Myrniong is of historical significance as an early hotel associated with the establishment of Myrniong. Constructed in 1865 and in use as a hotel until 1911, the building is of historical significance for its demonstration of social developments and hospitality in the life of the township. The former hotel is of historical significance as a rare surviving example of a rural hotel constructed from local materials.

The former Myrniong Hotel at 55 Main Street, Myrniong is of aesthetic significance as a representative and intact example surviving early bluestone hotel, contributing to the distinctive group of bluestone buildings in Main Street, Myrniong. The building demonstrates key features of a mid 19th century bluestone hotel, including the hipped roof, tuckpointed bluestone ashlar with quoins to openings and corners, skillion verandah over the footpath, two four-panel timber doors to the front, timber framed windows, and access door to the cellar. It is also of aesthetic significance for its construction from locally quarried stone.
