Statement of Significance

During and after World War I, Rose Charman's Cottage was the residence of several famous Australian writers including Louis and Hilda Esson, Vance and Nettie Palmer and Katherine Susannah Pritchard. Some of their best works were produced in the cottage which has not been substantially altered since then.
