Statement of Significance

This landscape consists of rolling hills, together with streams, valleys and intermittent swamps. Much of the area is attractive farmland varying from open grazing to intensive market gardening. However, sufficient natural forest survives to give diversity. This landscape provides a contrast to the steep forested escarpment of the main ranges. The small public park, south of Gembrook township is significant for its recreational and historical values and contains a breeding population of Lyrebirds and Lewin Honeyeaters.

LOCATION:

This landscape includes the eastern sector of the Dandenong Ranges Region from Seville East to Gembrook, Victoria.
