STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

158 Gheringhap Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. It is a representative example of Early Victorian housing which was once common in the Geelong region and has a high degree of integrity. The building retains its characteristic siting, form and original timber details. The building forms part of the residential streetscape. It has a historical association of almost forty years with Albert Bartlett who owned the neighbouring property.
