STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

149 Gheringhap Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. It is a representative and reasonably intact example of Late Victorian housing with typical Victorian details. The building retains its characteristic siting and form and has notable original verandah details and some facade decoration. The aluminium framed windows, brick front fence and addition to the rear skillion are not appropriate to the style of the residence. It has historic significance for its association with William Henry Eden over at least a forty year period.
