Statement of Significance

Described as 'villa flats' the three houses at 145, 145A & 147Mooltan were constructed in 1937. Designed by architect Eric J.Ziebell,the flats were planned to overcome difficulties caused by the shape ofthe land, its steep fall and the need to contain three dwelling whileconforming with the building regulations ( The Herald , 15 September 1937, p.45 'Original group of Ascot Vale villa flats').
