Statement of Significance

Described as 'villa flats' the three houses at 145, 145A & 147 Mooltan were constructed in 1937. Designed by architect Eric J.Ziebell, the flats were planned to overcome difficulties caused by the shape of the land, its steep fall and the need to contain three dwelling while conforming with the building regulations ( The Herald , 15 September 1937, p.45 'Original group of Ascot Vale villa flats').
