STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The complex of buildings at 7 Wellington Street which are significant are the front four rooms, the room adjoining the kitchen, and the kitchen and bathroom. They are a relatively intact example of typical housing development on a single site in Geelong from the mid nineteenth century. The property has been housing members of the same family for about one hundred years. Fernleigh is significant for its Harewood and Rogers roof tiles no other buildings have been located in Geelong West with these particular tiles, and tongue and groove weatherboards.
