B Listed - Regional Sigificance STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE 47 The Esplanade was built for Maurice N Jacobs who was probably the well known Geelong draper and former Mayor. The house is notable for its complex intersection of various forms, the dominant projecting gable and the resultant appearance of great mass. The design is quite unusual in Geelong West. It is of local significance.
