Statement of Significance

What is contributory?
A characteristic double-fronted, single-storey,
detached timber Italianate cottage. It has ashlar boards, the left bay set forward, with the bullnose verandah in the angle. There are three timber window-hoods at the sides. The frieze has turned spindle bracket-pairs, with
panels between. Both chimneys are red brick, with Classical render mould, unpainted. The entry has side and toplights, with a flyscreen door. There is a fine cast-iron lace valence and brackets.

How is it significant?
The house is contributory for its aesthetic and historic values.

Why is it contributory?
A well-preserved and characteristic double-fronted timber Italianate style cottage with distinctive verandah details.
