"Clonard", a once fine two storey brick and stucco dwelling at 225 Church Street, Geelong West was erected in 1855-56 for eminent Geelong medico, Dr. Foster Shaw. Dowden & Ross were the architects for this Victorian Italianate style residence, austerely ornamented and complimented by the elegant double bay windows to the east facade. The structure has been extensively modified and converted to use as a School Administration Building. The residence although of an early date, is eclipsed for importance by many other 1850's villas in Geelong including "Coranel" at Newtown. POLICY/RECOMMENDATIONS
