C Listed - Local Significance
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A particularly intact small timber Edwardian house with most interesting and eclectic decorative details, built in 1915. It is achitecturally interesting locally as representative ofthis domestic style but ofparticular interest because ofthe wideness and diversity ofits surviving decorative detail and contextual elements. It is significant historically locally in embodying life in Newtown during the Great War and as evidence that the building trade survived into the war.
INTACTNESS:
Particularly intact. The front verandah floor has been replaced by a concrete slab, but this appears to have been recently re-pointed. The paint colour scheme may be early, if not even the original colours. It lacks one chimney pot.
CONDITIONS AND THREATS: Very Good.
