STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

A Characteristic Edwardian timber house built in 1915, with unusual fretwork decoration apparently reflecting the floral emblems of the members of the United Kingdom and patriotism before the Great War. It is architecturally locally significant as characteristic of this style with interestingly significant decorative motifs and historically in embodying life in Newtown in the early years of the Great War and evidence that the building trade survived into the war.

INTACTNESS: Very Good. The verandah floor has been replaced with concrete. The left side verandah appears to be recent and there is a major sympathetic addition at the rear.

CONDITIONS AND THREATS: Good
