STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

1930s timber villa built in 1937. It has architectural significance as an example of this domestic style and of interest in being imposed on the earlier Bungalow type of no 163a Skene Street a house was constructed, in the same year, for Francis Heard who was a cabinetmaker. Heard still occupied and owned the property in 1940 with three others.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS:

A 1930s (ie post-Great Depression) version of no 163 (236) and comparable also to no 165.

INTACTNESS: Very good, brick brickwork has been painted.
